Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has been seen shopping with Hon. Natasha Osawuru, Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, adding another chapter to recent speculation about their relationship.

The sighting comes just days after 2Baba’s family reported him missing to the State Security Services, expressing concerns about his welfare. His mother, Rose Idibia, had previously alleged that Osawuru had “cast a spell” on the singer.

The 49-year-old singer’s family filed a petition with the State Security Services (SSS) on Monday, stating that 2Baba has not been seen since February 10, when he left his residence in loungewear for what appeared to be a routine walk. According to the petition, he departed without his usual security details or staff members and has remained unreachable for over 72 hours.

The disappearance follows a tumultuous week for the artist. On January 27, 2Baba announced his separation from Annie Macaulay, his wife of 12 years, promising to release a detailed statement about the split. Shortly after, he was linked romantically to Hon. Natasha Osawaru.

A viral video later emerged showing 2Baba proposing to the lawmaker at a private gathering. While Osawaru did not accept the ring, the pair were seen embracing and dancing together.

The singer’s mother, Rose Idibia, responded with allegations that her son was not in his right mind during the proposal.

Adding to the family’s concerns, several of 2Baba’s friends have reportedly received suspicious messages from his social media accounts requesting financial assistance. The family’s petition suggests he may have been abducted and is being manipulated for financial gain.

“The implications of this situation are grave, and the possibility of foul play and coercion cannot be overlooked,” stated the petition, filed by law firm Anuge, Anuge & Co. The document emphasised 2Baba’s status as a “legend” in Nigerian music and described his musical empire as “rendered comatose” by his disappearance.
