In his acceptance remarks, Prince Ogoh emphasised the need for unity, innovation, and development. He urged members to contribute towards the acquisition of furniture for the branch by December 2025 and called for tangible, realistic development projects for both Jos and Akweya land. These projects, he said, would be executed in collaboration with the Jos Zone and National Executives to avoid duplication.

“As part of our empowerment plans,” he added, “we are arranging loan packages with below-normal interest rates to assist members facing urgent financial constraints and reduce the risk of financial embarrassment or depression. Our motto remains ‘Akweya First’.”

Other elected officers include Mr. Samuel Ediba as Vice Chairman, a respected football coach with Mees Palace Football Academy, Jos; Ms. Benedicta Ogbuche as Chairlady; and Mr. Sunday Paul  Idoko Secretary General.

Also elected were Mr. Francis Ondah (Treasurer), Mr. Paul Ejeh (Financial Secretary), Mr. Christian Alama (Public Relations Officer, PRO), and Mr. Adakole Epor (Legal Adviser).

The meeting, which witnessed a large turnout of members, concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a collective commitment to build a stronger, more prosperous Akweya community in Plateau State and beyond. The new leadership is expected to hit the ground running, with implementation of the proposed initiatives starting before the end of the year.
