Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, conducted a series of unannounced monitoring visits to seven EDI centres participating in the second phase of the state’s 1Youth 2Skills Entrepreneurship Scheme.
The surprise inspections included centres at Onitsha North LGA Secretariat, OLEC Imeobi Onitsha, Beatrice Onyemelukwe Institute, Onitsha South LGA Secretariat, Unizik Business School, and secretariats in both Idemili North and South Local Government Areas.
During his visits, Commissioner Mba congratulated the programme beneficiaries and stated the importance of dedication and discipline for their success. He issued a clear warning that participants who miss classes risk being removed from the programme.
“I will continue these unannounced visits to ensure full participation and commitment from all beneficiaries,” Mba stated.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation to Governor Charles Soludo for his youth-focused initiatives, describing him as “a youth-friendly governor who is passionate and has great plans for the youths in all sectors of the state.”

He also commended the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) Business School for maintaining high standards in their instruction, encouraging them to “keep it up” with their quality of lectures.
Programme participants responded positively to the commissioner’s visit, with several expressing satisfaction with the quality of courses being offered. Many pledged to maximise the opportunity provided by the entrepreneurship scheme.
The 1Youth 2Skills Entrepreneurship Scheme represents part of the Anambra State government’s efforts to address youth unemployment through skills development and entrepreneurial training.
