A former quality assurance specialist at Access Bank’s contact centre in Lagos has been accused of secretly recording hundreds of videos of colleagues in restrooms and allegedly selling the footage online.

Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie was caught in the female restroom around 1:30 am on Wednesday after a woman taking a bath noticed a phone recording her from an adjacent toilet cubicle, sources told the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).
According to witnesses, Ejezie was arrested after the incident, and a subsequent police raid of his home reportedly uncovered more than 400 videos on his laptop showing male and female colleagues in various states of undress in the restrooms.
Sources claim Ejezie had been selling these recordings on platforms including OnlyFans and Telegram, primarily to overseas buyers.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, employees expressed concern that Ejezie has already been released from police custody. Many fear the bank may be prioritising brand protection over justice for affected staff members.
“What happens to us if the videos he has already sold circulate online?” one worried employee asked.
The contact centre, which serves as Access Bank’s customer service hub, operates on a shift basis, with some employees occasionally sleeping at the office and using on-site facilities for personal hygiene.
Following the incident, bank management has reportedly banned employees from staying overnight at work. During a Friday morning meeting, staff were reportedly warned that similar incidents could result in jail time.
Colleagues described Ejezie, who joined Access Bank in February 2023 and was promoted to Quality Assurance Specialist in October, as “cool” and “exceptional” at his job. “No one would ever have thought this would come from him,” a former colleague said.

By Friday, Ejezie had updated his LinkedIn profile to indicate he no longer works at the bank, though initially it showed his employment status as “present.”
Many employees expressed frustration with the bank’s handling of the situation. “We are just contract staff and not really rated. Any little thing, and you get tossed in the trash,” one said. Others noted that many potential victims don’t even know they might have been recorded.
FIJ reported that it contacted Access Bank on Friday but had not received a response by press time.
