A member of the Benue State House of Assembly has announced a research grant programme offering ₦100,000 to final-year students conducting academic projects on Akweya culture and heritage.

Honourable Ambassador Kennedy Angbo, who represents Otukpo-Akpa Constituency, launched the initiative in partnership with AkweyaTV to support academic research on various aspects of Akweya heritage.
The grant programme targets students working on projects related to Akweya language, history, culture, food, fashion, or social organisation. Up to 10 students from Nigerian tertiary institutions will be selected annually to receive the ₦100,000 research support.
Eligibility requirements include being a final-year student at any Nigerian tertiary institution and conducting research focused on an aspect of Akweya heritage.
Interested applicants must submit their research topic and work plan, contact details of their Head of Department or Project Supervisor, a copy of their school ID card, and their National Identification Number to tv@akweya.com.
The programme aims to preserve and promote Akweya heritage through academic research, providing financial support to students exploring the cultural traditions and practices of the Akweya people.
The initiative represents a collaboration between political leadership and media organisations to support educational research into indigenous Nigerian cultures and traditions.
