Catholic Bishop to Deliver Annual Public Lecture
In a notable event marking the 3rd anniversary of First News Newspaper, the Catholic Bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Kukah, is set to deliver the annual national public lecture. The lecture, titled “The Nigerian Question: Survival of the Federation in the Throes of Increasing Economic Challenges,” will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. This significant lecture will be held at the Harold Dappa Biriye Conference Centre, Onopa Villas, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, starting at 10 a.m.

One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of the “Man of the Year Award” to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and the “Bank of the Year Award” to Premium Trust Bank. Businessman and security expert, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, will grace the occasion as a special guest. The chairman of the occasion is none other than the former governor of Bayelsa State and incumbent senator, Seriake Dickson. The current governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, will serve as the special guest of honour.
