Secretary to the Board, Retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, said the suspension aims to optimise the efficiency of the recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng to better handle the unprecedented number of applications.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high level of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” Jubril stated.

The recruitment exercise has faced multiple delays. It was originally scheduled to begin July 2 before being pushed to July 14.
The suspended recruitment covers positions across four key paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC, Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Federal Fire Service.
Jubril praised the response from Nigerian youth, saying the board appreciates “the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies.”
The July 21 resumption date is intended to provide sufficient time for technical improvements to the recruitment platform to ensure it can handle the high volume of applicants seeking positions in Nigeria’s paramilitary services.
