Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on real estate firms operating in the state to help reduce the cost of rental properties, citing concerns about affordability for public service workers.
The appeal was made on Monday during the 13th anniversary and annual convention of Property World Africa Network (PWAN) Marketing Company in Asaba, the state capital. Governor Oborevwori was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Johnson Erijo.

“I would like to use this medium to appeal to real estate organisations to help in reducing the cost of rents payable on rented properties,” the governor stated. “The current skyrocketing rents are not sustainable, especially for public service workers. I urge you to apply your innovative skills to find ways to make housing more affordable.”
Governor Oborevwori praised PWAN’s leadership, noting that the company had “redefined excellence in the real estate sector” since its founding in 2012 to become “a key player in Africa’s real estate sector.”
Global President and immediate-past Group Managing Director of PWAN, Dr. Obioma Onwumere, described the firm as an “empowerment industry” rather than just a real estate business. “The mandate of the PWAN group is that each affiliate will empower 10 and that 10 will empower another 10, which will continue in that circle,” he explained. “Together, PWAN will change the face of empowerment in Nigeria.”
The newly appointed acting managing director of PWAN group, Prof. Julius Oyedemi, pledged to uphold the company’s vision going forward.
