The proprietor of Dorian Home, Akure, Dr. Tolulola Bayode, officially commissioned the Dorian Home Police Post on Sunday. The decision to establish the post stemmed from Dr. Bayode’s astute recognition of the paramount importance of supporting Nigeria’s dedicated police force in its tireless effort to safeguard the environment.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Bayode underscored the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in upholding security.
“Issues of security cannot be left in the hands of the police alone,” she asserted, emphasising that collective efforts are imperative for a safe and secure community.
The police post, strategically located beside Dorian Home, represents a beacon of hope for enhanced security measures in the area. Dr. Bayode expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the State Commissioner of Police for approving the construction. She called upon residents of Omodara, Itaoolorun, Olajide, Store, and neighbouring communities to extend their wholehearted support to the officers who will be stationed at the post.
This vital community initiative brings a renewed sense of confidence to the children residing within Dorian Home, as they can now rest assured knowing that highly trained police personnel are close to the facility. Dr. Bayode stressed the critical role of collective effort and stakeholder cooperation in ensuring the children’s well-being.
The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ashabi, lauded Dr. Bayode’s remarkable philanthropic endeavour, affirming that her altruism is making a tangible difference in the lives of the less privileged. The police post, he stated, is a significant stride towards fortifying security for the populace.
Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries, Bunmi Alade, commended Dr. Bayode’s unwavering dedication to community welfare, hailing the construction of the police post as a praiseworthy gesture, especially given the current socio-political climate.
The Dorian Home Police Post is set to serve as a beacon of safety, symbolising the potential that arises when communities and law enforcement unite for a common cause.
