Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Suleiman Balarabe announced that the university can now admit students for bachelor’s degree courses following a successful resource assessment visit by NUC officials in July 2025. The development allows the institution to broaden its academic offerings beyond its traditional role as a college of education.
Prospective students who scored 150 points or higher in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and possess National Certificate in Education qualifications are eligible to apply for admission in the 2025/2026 academic session. The university has opened applications across four faculties, offering a total of 35 undergraduate programmes.

The Faculty of Education will offer seven programmes, including Educational Management, Educational Technology, Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Adult and Continuing Education, Primary Education, and Guidance and Counselling. The Faculty of Arts Education provides the most diverse range, with ten programmes covering language studies, religious education, and social sciences, including English Education with Literature, French Education, Language Arts and Communication, Arabic Education, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Hausa Education, Social Studies and Civic Education, Yoruba, and Igbo.
Science-focused students can choose from ten programmes in the Faculty of Science Education, ranging from traditional subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics Education to specialised areas such as Health Education, Human Kinetics, Environmental Education, Integrated Science, Computer Science Education, and Geography Education.
The Faculty of Social Science and Vocational Education rounds out the offerings with eight programmes, including Political Science, Creative Art Education, Business Education, Home Economics, Agriculture Education, Economics Education, Library and Information Science, and Entrepreneurship.
The university has made provisions for students who did not initially select the Federal University of Education, Zaria as their first choice institution. These candidates can visit any JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test centre to obtain authorisation to change their institution preference to FUEZ. This flexibility aims to accommodate qualified students who may have initially applied elsewhere but now wish to take advantage of the newly available degree programmes.
