The federal government has begun the construction of 216 housing units, which includes two and three-bedroom flats under the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Estate project to provide affordable homes for civil officials.

During a ceremony at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), the outgoing Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, emphasised the importance of this project as a critical success of the President Bola Tinubu administration. She stated that the project illustrates the government’s commitment to boosting employee welfare as a means of increasing productivity in the public sector.

Dr. Folashade urged civil servants to make full use of the opportunity, which has been specifically tailored to their needs. Yemi-Esan expressed confidence that once completed, the project would reduce many civil personnel lodging needs.

Also, the Administrator of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Mr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, described the ceremony as an achievement towards the realisation of pillar six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-25. He commended Yemi-Esan’s outstanding work and the impact of her initiatives on the institute.

“The Institute has benefited tremendously from your intellectuality, experience, skills and industry insights. More specifically, Public Service Institute of Nigeria would remain grateful to you in the areas of capacity upgrading, curriculum development, digitalisation agenda, agripreneurship programmes, solar-powered street lights, to mention but a few,” he said.
