A prestigious global leadership initiative is now accepting applications from professionals committed to eliminating health disparities worldwide. The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (AFHE) programme brings together individuals from diverse fields to build a powerful network of health equity leaders.
The fully-funded fellowship is open to early to mid-career professionals from all countries who are engaged in health-related work. Successful applicants will join a cohort of leaders committed to addressing health inequities through collaborative action and innovative approaches.
The programme is looking for individuals who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a genuine commitment to eliminating health disparities.
Eligible candidates include professionals from healthcare, law, journalism, business, academia, and social enterprise who currently hold leadership roles or are in positions with leadership potential. Applicants must be proficient in English and open to diverse perspectives and group collaboration.
The one-year programme combines in-person convenings with online coursework, requiring a four-week in-person commitment and 12-16 hours of monthly online participation. All travel and educational expenses are covered by the fellowship.
Learning components include biweekly online classes, individualised coaching, peer mentoring, and team-based learning designed to strengthen leadership skills and health equity knowledge.
Applicants must submit a statement of interest highlighting their leadership characteristics and health equity experience, along with a detailed project proposal that includes goals, timeline, and institutional support information. Additional requirements include an employer support form, two recommendation letters, and a CV or resume.
Key dates for the application process include a February 18, 2025 opening, an informational webinar on March 13, and an application deadline of April 10, 2025. Following two rounds of interviews in June and July, final selections will be announced in August 2025.
The selection committee will evaluate candidates based on their leadership potential, project feasibility, recommendation letters, and confirmed employer support.
