The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ambassador Nicholas Agbo Ella, has appealed to Idoma and Igede youths to refrain from participating in the planned nationwide protest against the government.
During a closed-door meeting with executives of the Idoma Development Association (IDA), seeking his counsel regarding their stance on the protest, Ambassador Ella appealed.
In a telephone conversation with AkweyaTV, the president of IDA, Hon. Alexander Odoh, said the protest was unnecessary. He emphasised that the government is already implementing policies to mitigate the impact of the petroleum subsidy removal.
“Our patron, Ambassador Ella, has spoken, and we will listen, banking on his wealth of wisdom, experience, and palpable care for Idoma youths,” stated Hon. Odoh.
He therefore called on all Idoma and Igede youths to stay away from the protest, asserting that the Tinubu administration has a positive plan for the country.
