AkweyaTV is proud to share a visual celebration of Idoma history; an infographic representing the 22 original districts that surrendered their ancestral staffs to the first Och’Idoma, marking the formal unity of Idomaland.
These districts—ranging from Agatu and Ochekwu to Akpa (Akweya), Oju and Uwokwu—form the cultural and historical backbone of the Idoma people. Each one carries unique traditions, dialects, languages, stories, and lineages that together make up the rich mosaic of Idoma identity.
The bold red and black tones of the infographic pay homage to the timeless Idoma colours, symbolising courage, vitality, and ancestral strength. The modern African motifs remind us that while we preserve the past, we are also shaping the future.
