Nigeria’s Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will begin on January 31 and run through March 5.

Direct Entry (DE) runs from March 10 – April 7, 2025, while the mock UTME will be held on April 5, with the main exam scheduled for April 25 – May 5, 2025.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede revealed that a mock examination will be held on February 23 for interested candidates. The board has expanded its testing capacity with 870 computer-based test centres, up from 747 in 2024.

He said the sale of application documents and e-PIN vending will begin on March 10, 2025, for direct entry candidates. The exercise will end on April 7, 2025.

Registration fees have been set at  ₦8,200 for UTME with mock examination, ₦7,200 for UTME only and ₦5,700 for Direct Entry candidates.

All candidates must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) to generate a profile code by texting their NIN to 55019 or 66019. The board has introduced a new feature this year – a trial-testing mock examination for candidates under 16 who want to experience the computer-based testing format.

“The board believes that candidates participating in the 2025 UTME will experience an examination like never before,” Oloyede said, emphasising JAMB’s commitment to addressing previous years’ challenges.

JAMB warned that late registrations would not be accepted and advised candidates to begin their preparations early by creating profiles and gathering the necessary documentation.

“Registration must be completed within the designated window, as late submissions will not be entertained,” JAMB warned.
