The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Jigawa, Mr. Ahmadu Abdullahi, has assured applicants for the Police Constable Cadre recruitment of transparency in the process of the exercise. This assurance was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Lawan Shiisu, on Sunday in Dutse.
CP Abdullahi warned officials posted for the recruitment exercise not to collect money or any form of bribe from applicants, families, or anybody else.
He stated that applicants who completed the online recruitment registration process for the police constable cadre (General Duty/Specialist) and received invitation letters via email are to report to Police Headquarters in Dutse for physical and credential screening from January 8 to January 29.
“The exercise is free of charge and without any pecuniary obligation. The process will be conducted in the best tradition of transparency and accountability.
“Also, the applicants are advised to be wary of online impostors, scammers, and other criminal elements who may want to take advantage of the process to dupe them.
“Anyone found wanting during the exercise will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly,” the CP warned.
The CP also stated that those who are selected as successful applicants must show up at the police headquarters dressed in clean white T-shirts and shorts, along with current passport photos, proof of physical and mental health from a hospital accredited by the government, and a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s village, district head or traditional ruler attesting to their moral character.
The others include invitation slip, birth certificate or age declaration, original and duplicate copies of credentials, National Identity Number (NIN), printouts of application forms, and properly filled-out guarantor papers.
