The River Park Estate management has clarified the situation leading to rumours that the estate was suffering a bout of kidnappings on 20 January 2024. In a message posted on the estate WhatsApp group, the management denied the rumours of a kidnapping incident within the premises.
On public WhatsApp groups, a video was circulating with the information, “Avoid River Park Estate… Kidnapping is ongoing there right now.”
The Estate’s management said, contrary to circulating reports, the situation involved a resident from Games Village (another estate) attempting to deceive his brother, a River Park resident, under the false pretense of a kidnapping.
The alleged victim, identified as Mr. Henry Davidson, orchestrated the scheme, directing the culprits to the estate, anticipating the swift action of River Park’s security. The perpetrators were promptly apprehended upon entering the Estate, and the mastermind was arrested and being investigated.
The message urged residents of the Estate to remain vigilant and rely on accurate information from official sources.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This is to bring to the attention of all Residents that the information going round that there is a kidnapping incident within the estate is TOTALLY FALSE.
We only have an incident of a man from games village who made attempt to dupe his brother who lives within the Estate under the guise that he was kidnapped. Currently, he is under investigation as he has been arrested.
Infact, his brother one Mr. Henry Davidson was the one who directed them to come to Riverpark to collect the money with the aim that our security would apprehend them. And truly, they were apprehended once they got around the Estate.
Signed
Management.
