The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has approved the appointments of 17 administrators and members of Area Administrative Councils following a screening exercise on Monday.

Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau announced the confirmations during plenary in Lafia on Monday. The legislature completed its screening of nominees submitted by Governor Abdullahi Sule on May 13.

Of the 18 nominees originally sent to the Assembly, 17 received confirmation. However, the speaker stepped down the confirmation of Mr. Bashir Zubairu as Administrator for the Farin Ruwa Area Administrative Council due to an undisclosed issue.

Among those confirmed were Alhaji Hashimu Jada for the Azara Area Administrative Council, Yakubu Bala for the Uke/Karahi Area Administrative Council, and Prof. Rabo Dakare for the Panda Area Administrative Council.

Other confirmed administrators include Mr. Jeremiah Ishaleku for the Lafia East Area Administrative Council, Nasiru Akanza for the Lafia North Area Administrative Council, and Jibrin Maiwada for the Gadabuke Area Administrative Council.

The list also features Mr. Shuaibu Jibrin for Daddare Area Administrative Council, Mr. David Ayale for Jenkwe Area Administrative Council, and Mr. Yunusa Amwe for Akwanga West Area Administrative Council.

Additional confirmations include Mr. Abdullahi Envulanza as Administrator for the Agidi Area Administrative Council, Mr. Solomon Omaku for the Giza Area Administrative Council, and Dr. Adigizi Garba for the Akun Area Administrative Council.

Shuaibu Umar was confirmed as the Administrator for the Loko Area Administrative Council, while Yahaya Owuna will head the Udege Area Administrative Council. Prince Abubakar Jibrin received confirmation for the Ekye Area Administrative Council, Salihu Kassim-Hasheem for the Umaisha Area Administrative Council, and Elisha Dogo for the Agwada Area Administrative Council.

Speaking after the confirmations, Jatau congratulated the new administrators and urged them to maintain high standards of conduct when they assume office.

The speaker has directed the Assembly Clerk to communicate the House resolution to Governor Sule for necessary action regarding the appointments.
