The Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Clara M Pulido, has said that the Nigerian culture has a strong correlation with the culture of her country, Cuba.
This was contained in her goodwill message at the Folklore Performance Competition between schools in IDP camps Abuja, organised by the Department of Children Creative Station of the National Troupe of Nigeria (NTN) on Friday 31st March 2023 at the Sharing Prosperity School, IDP Kuchingoro Camp.
The Ambassador added that though the children have been removed from their roots, displaced by the terrorist attack, the competition is bringing their roots back to them.
The Folklore completion was between four schools from the IDP Camps in Abuja, including Betharbel Elementary School, Durumi, Junior Secondary School, Karomajigi, Sharing Prosperity School, Kuchingoro, and Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace School.
According to the Artistic Director/CEO of National Troupe of Nigeria, Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed in an Interview with Akweyatv, the desire to resuscitate the dying culture of folklore which many of them enjoyed while growing up cannot be overemphasised.
