Nwajagu Chinemerem Samuel has been crowned Mister International, becoming the first black man and African to win the prestigious global competition.
The 23-year-old Nigerian model secured the title on December 14 in Thailand, competing against 46 contestants from around the world and succeeding Kim Goodburn from Thailand, who held the 2023 title.
Standing an impressive 6’3″ tall, Samuel not only won the overall competition but also claimed the Best in Swimwear award, showcasing his physical prowess and stage presence.
Samuel’s journey to the international crown began with his success at the Mister International Nigeria 2024 contest, where he was selected as the national representative. His professional portfolio includes collaborations with notable fashion brands such as Tice Grandiose, Veejayrex Fashion, and Zhalima Grazioni.
Beyond his modelling career, Samuel brings an impressive academic and professional background to his title. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and works as a software engineer, demonstrating a remarkable balance between academic achievement and modelling success.
The Mister International pageant, established in 2006 by the late Alan Sim, is a Singapore-based organisation that attracts participants from over 80 countries annually. It is considered the second-largest male beauty pageant globally, trailing only behind Mister World in terms of national-level representation.
At 23, Samuel is among the younger winners in the pageant’s history, adding another layer of significance to his historic achievement.
His victory represents more than just a personal triumph. It marks a significant milestone for Africa in the global male beauty pageant scene and highlights Nigeria’s growing influence on the international stage.
The win celebrates Samuel’s accomplishments and also serves as an inspiration for aspiring models across the African continent.
