The announcement was made by NIPR’s president, Dr. Ike Neliaku, yesterday, April 25, during a visit to NSUK, where he led the project implementation committee for the proposed University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL). According to Dr. Neliaku, the fellowship will be awarded at NIPR’s week and Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 22 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“This recognition reflects Professor Liman’s unwavering support for NIPR and her invaluable contributions to the establishment of UPRL in Gudi, Nasarawa State,” said Dr. Neliaku.

The primary purpose of the NIPR delegation’s visit was to establish a mentorship relationship with NSUK for the development of UPRL, which is poised to become the first institution of its kind globally when it commences operations in November 2026. Dr. Neliaku cited NSUK’s rising profile among Nigerian universities and its geographical proximity to UPRL as key factors in selecting it as a mentor institution.

Representing Professor Liman at the meeting, Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo expressed gratitude for the recognition from NIPR and reaffirmed NSUK’s commitment to providing value-driven education and effective leadership while respecting diversity across ethnic, cultural, and religious lines.

During discussions about NSUK’s successful strategies, Professor Modibbo highlighted the university’s emphasis on partnerships with reputable government and corporate organisations for collaborative research and development. He also underscored NSUK’s dedication to enhancing academic and professional standards through strategic affiliations with various educational institutions.

The working visit included detailed discussions on collaboration strategies, staffing, human resources development, and research exchanges. The NIPR delegation also toured NSUK’s facilities to gain insights into the university’s resources and capabilities for providing effective mentorship to UPRL.
