The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Akinsola Akinlabi, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The new online portal, accessible at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, represents part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to reform the NIS and enhance the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of its services.

According to Akinlabi, the platform will enable applicants to submit their CERPAC applications online without requiring physical forms, streamlining the entire application process.

Effective August 1, the use of physical CERPAC forms will be permanently discontinued. All CERPAC applications submitted after July 31 must be processed exclusively through the new online portal.

“All CERPAC applications after July 31 must be submitted solely through the online portal,” Akinlabi stated in the announcement.

The NIS has established a strict deadline for the transition, advising applicants who have already made payments but have not yet submitted their physical CERPAC forms to complete the process by July 31.

Akinlabi warned that failure to meet this deadline could result in the loss of application status and associated payments.

“Similarly, individuals and companies with pending submissions are strongly encouraged to complete all processes within the stipulated timeline to avoid any inconvenience,” he said.

The immigration service stated that any physical forms not submitted before the deadline will be rendered void and invalid.

The digital transition is designed to improve the user experience and ensure a seamless application process for both individual applicants and corporate organisations that assume immigration responsibility for expatriates.

Akinlabi reaffirmed the NIS’s commitment to delivering more efficient and technology-driven immigration services in line with international standards.

The service has designated the Office of the Public Relations Officer as the primary contact point for all inquiries and correspondence related to this digital transition.

The new system is expected to benefit various stakeholders, including:

  • Individual expatriates seeking residence permits
  • Corporate organisations sponsoring foreign workers
  • Immigration service personnel processing applications
  • Government agencies that require streamlined immigration data

For assistance with the transition or technical support, applicants are advised to contact the NIS through the Office of the Public Relations Officer.
