Ortese, Oglegba, Omale Make Alia’s List of Commissioners, Aides

In a press statement released on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, the Government of Benue State government has unveiled the list of nominees for commissioner positions, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants as selected by His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

The list includes notable individuals from various sectors and regions of the state, demonstrating the government’s commitment to inclusivity and effective governance. Among the prominent figures appointed are Hon. Dr. Yanmar M. Ortese, a medical doctor from Guma, who brings a wealth of experience to the role, and

Hon. Michael Oglegba from Otukpo, a tech entrepreneur who contributed significantly to the Alia campaign. He is the first Akweya person to ever become a Commissioner in any cabinet, and the first ever to be nominated.

Barr. Omale Omale

Additionally, former APC State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Omale Omale from Apa has been chosen for a key advisory role, further highlighting the government’s emphasis on expertise and diverse perspectives. The array of appointments is set to enhance service delivery and drive the state’s progress across multiple sectors.

Furthermore, the statement revealed a list of Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers, and Special Assistants who will support and advise the government on various matters. The appointments reflect a mix of seasoned professionals and emerging talents, reflecting a balanced approach to governance.

Sir Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary, indicated that additional advisers would be announced in due course, underlining the government’s intent to assemble a comprehensive and skilled team to address the needs and aspirations of the people of Benue State. As the government gears up to work at full throttle, these appointments signify a significant step toward achieving the state’s development goals.
