The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Kano State Chapter has enrolled 10 less privileged orphans into Rimin Zakara Special Primary School as part of its crime prevention initiative.
The enrolment took place on Monday during POCACOV’s school outreach programme at the Kano school. The programme targeted children who were previously out of school and considered vulnerable to street life.
To support the newly enrolled students, POCACOV provided educational materials, including 100 exercise books, 10 school uniforms, 10 branded school bags, and 10 pencils.
The initiative is part of POCACOV’s strategy to address the root causes of crime by ensuring vulnerable children have access to education, mentorship, and protection regardless of their background.
The programme featured a symbolic distribution ceremony of school bags, marking what organisers described as a significant milestone in POCACOV’s mission to support vulnerable groups and build a safer, more inclusive society.
POCACOV officials noted that the children appeared joyful as they received their school materials and prepared to begin their formal education.
The outreach programme aims to prevent crime through community-led intervention, focusing on education and empowerment as tools to transform lives and reduce criminal activity.
The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices operates under the Force Headquarters in Abuja and conducts various community programmes across Nigerian states to prevent youth involvement in criminal activities.
