During a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, June 19, the union representatives claimed that certain high-ranking officers within the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) attempted to insert unauthorised names into the recruitment list.

While singing protest songs, protesting union members criticised the NPF’s response as a diversionary tactic.

According to them, the NPF aims to prevent the president from recognising the inadequate preparedness of police training facilities for the recruits due to their poor condition. This development follows the PSC’s release of a list of 10,000 successful candidates from the latest recruitment exercise. The NPF, however, rejected this list, labelling the recruitment process as fraudulent.
