President Tinubu Celebrates Alibaba for Immense Contribution to Entertainment

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has congratulated popular comedian and actor Alibaba on his 60th birthday celebration. In a statement by the State House, the president praised Alibaba for his immense contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Atunyota Alleluyah Akpobome, professionally known as Alibaba, was born on June 24, 1965, and hails from Agbarha-Otor of Delta State, Nigeria.

He started his career performing as a professional MC at corporate events and also appeared on TV and radio shows.

Alibaba later became known for his stage performances and rib-cracking jokes. He is said to be the father of stand-up comedy in Nigeria.

Alibaba, who is also an actor, has featured in different movies and TV series like “My Guy” (1998), “The Last 3 Digits” (2014), “Head Gone” (2014), “The Wedding Party” (2016), “Alakada” (2017), “Gold Statue” (2019), and “The Man for the Job” (2022), amongst others.
