President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 11 people to spearhead key agencies within the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.
The appointed Chief Executive Officers include Tola Akerele, Director-General of National Theatre; Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Director-General of the National Films and Censors Board; and Mr. Obi Asika, Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture.
Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan assumes the position of Chief Conservator, National War Museum; Ahmed Sodangi, Director-General, National Gallery of Art; Chaliya Shagaya takes charge as Director-General, National Institute of Archaeology and Museum Studies; Hajiya Khaltume Bulama Gana is the Artistic Director, National Troupe of Nigeria, while Otunba Biodun Ajiboye assumes the role of Director-General, National Institute for Cultural Orientation.
Others are Ali Nuhu, who was appointed Managing Director, Nigerian Film Corporation; and Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed, who takes charge as Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
The Special Adviser to the President for Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, expressed President Tinubu’s commitment to nurturing a dynamic and thriving cultural and creative economy in the nation.
“The President mandates the appointees to discharge their duties following the highest standards of professionalism, diligence, and patriotism to make the creative sector more vibrant and robust,” he stated.
