The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the complete restoration of the national grid following a partial disturbance around 11:21 a.m. on Sunday. In a statement released on Sunday, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, reported that the company swiftly took action to restore the affected portion of the grid.

”The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that the grid experienced a partial disturbance at about 11:21 a.m. with Ibom power islanded feeding Eket, Ekim, Itu, and Uyo transmission substations during the period of partial disturbance,” she said.

Mbah noted that before the incident, the total power generation on the grid stood at 3,901.25 megawatts (MW) as of 8 a.m., just over three hours before the partial collapse occurred.
