President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala’s wins at the 2023 CAF Awards.
Osimhen, Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, claimed the prestigious CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award, while Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year for the sixth time, alongside Chiamaka Nnadozie, who was honoured as the Woman Goalkeeper of the Year. Additionally, the Super Falcons emerged victorious as the Women’s National Team of the Year.
Commending the trio for their exceptional performances on both national and international stages, President Tinubu emphasised their role as sources of national pride and inspiration for aspiring footballers across Africa.

A forward for Spanish Liga F club Barcelona and the Nigeria women’s national team, Asisat is widely recognised as one of the greatest African female footballers, having clinched the African Women’s Footballer of the Year a record six times.
Victor is a striker for Serie A club Napoli and the Nigeria national team. He is renowned for his elite finishing, pace, strength, and athleticism, solidifying his position among the world’s top strikers.
A goalkeeper for Paris FC in the French Division 1 Féminine and Nigeria women’s national football team, Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie is esteemed as one of the best in her position globally.
