Tinubu Names Mohammed Isa as SSA on Disability Affairs

President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Mohammed Isa as his Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters. This was announced at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.

The newly appointed SSA, Mohammed Isa, is recognised as a distinguished advocate for persons with disabilities, boasting over a decade of experience in both local and international advocacy on matters of disability rights.

Isa holds a degree in public administration with honours from the University of Maiduguri. His academic journey also includes the successful completion of a Master in Public Administration at the same institution in 2017.

In his new role, President Tinubu has charged Isa with the proactive task of creating opportunities for inclusion. This involves integrating the requirements and perspectives of persons with disabilities into the policies and programmes of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the federal government. Isa will also collaborate closely with sub-national authorities to build a national consensus on disability-friendly policies and environmental conditions in partnership with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
