Today, as the world marks the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, We, members of POCACOV, southeast Nigeria, add our voices to this urgent and emotional fight.
This issue is deeply personal to us. With the neuropsychiatric hospitals located in our region, we have seen firsthand the pain, damage, and heartbreak caused by drug abuse.
We have listened to the cries of families, seen the struggles of young people, and supported those seeking help to rebuild their lives. These are not just stories; they are real lives, real futures at risk.
Fighting drug abuse is not just about law enforcement; it is about saving our youths, healing our communities, and giving hope to the hopeless. It’s about building a society where young people can thrive without falling into the traps of addiction and crime.
I call on you, parents, leaders, youths, and every concerned Nigerian to join us in this fight initiated by our national co-ordinator ACP Oluseyi Olabisi Okuwobi, psc., mnipr., mipra
Let’s speak out, take action, and support those affected. Together, we can break the chains of drug abuse and build a brighter, safer future for all.
