It was a moment of celebration, recognition, and cultural pride on Saturday, July 12, as dignitaries from across Abuja and Benue gathered in Abuja to honour Chief Friday Idah, the Oglajegwo of Ogyoma community, on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

Among those in attendance were the Benue State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Michael Oglegba, the Ebo k’Idoma, and the Honourable Member representing Otukpo/Akpa Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Kennedy Agbogo Angbo.
The Chairman of the occasion and father of the day, Chief David Akoji of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) described the celebrant as “a hardworking young man with a deep passion for community development,” adding that he was proud to count Chief Idah among his protégés.
Delivering the birthday toast, Hon. Kennedy Angbo praised Chief Idah as not only a devoted community leader but also a patriotic Nigerian and accomplished gentleman. He expressed confidence in Idah’s future, wishing him an ambassadorial appointment in recognition of his contributions to society.
Other prominent voices who spoke to AkweyaTV include the former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Samuel Ortom, Hon. Lillian Ene Anyebe; Senior Pastor of PISTOS Church, Apostle S. Agbenyi; and Mr. Moses Okoh of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Each hailed Chief Idah as a man of great impact whose generosity and leadership had touched many lives.
Speaking with AkweyaTV, Chief Idah expressed profound gratitude, attributing his success to God. He urged Nigerian youths to remain hard-working and committed to making wise choices for a better future.

The celebration also featured cultural displays by the Akweya Cultural Troupe of Abuja, culminating in an ecstatic cutting of the birthday cake.
