The 45-year-old tennis icon had completed one of the most significant victories of her later career, defeating Peyton Stearns in straight sets. Speaking with Tennis Channel’s Rennae Stubbs in an on-court interview, Williams confirmed her relationship with the 37-year-old European actor, crediting him as a driving force behind her return to professional competition.
“Yes, my fiancé is here, and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” Williams revealed, her voice filled with emotion as she gestured toward the stands. “There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill… He encouraged me to get through this, and it’s wonderful for him to be here. He’s never seen me play.”
According to IMDb Andrea was born in Denmark. He moved to Italy when he was a teenager, and his family introduced him to the fashion world. He then attended the Susan Batson Academy in NYC to study acting.

Williams’ revelation came at a moment of professional triumph, having just become the second-oldest woman in tennis history to win a tour-level singles match.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion spoke candidly about periods of doubt during her extended hiatus. “There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill,” she explained, painting a picture of an athlete weighing retirement against the demands of continued competition.
The public engagement announcement is a notable departure from her usual media approach, as she is known to maintain strict privacy around her romantic relationships.

Williams had not played in a tournament in 16 months until entering the event in Washington, making her straight-sets victory over 23-year-old Stearns all the more emotionally significant.
She had won a doubles match on Monday and a singles match on Tuesday before losing in doubles on Wednesday.
Williams is scheduled to face Magdalena Frech in the second round on Thursday night.
