At the Global Finance Best Banks Awards 2024, Zenith Bank Plc won Best Bank in Nigeria, its fourth victory since 2019. In the announcement of Global Finance’s 31st Annual Best Bank Awards Winners, it was stated that the bank distinguished itself among competitors from 36 African nations.
The Global Finance editors spearheaded the selection process, which included extensive interviews with important financial industry stakeholders such as corporate financial executives, bankers, analysts, and consultants. Factors studied ranged from quantitative indicators like increases in assets and profitability to qualitative elements like geographic reach, strategic alliances, and innovation in products.
Commenting on the award, the outgoing Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Zenith Bank, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, said, “This award serves as a powerful affirmation of our resilience and tenacity despite headwinds and a very challenging macroeconomic environment. Also, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance, Joseph D. Giarraputo, stressed the revolutionary significance of technological innovation in banking, pointing out that the Best Bank Awards honour organisations that provide a wide range of services, long-term dependability, and innovation.
