In his address, Professor Audu assured the University community of the Council’s unwavering support to the Vice-Chancellor and Management, affirming that “the future of the University is bright” and pledging to ensure FUHSO attains its rightful place among Nigeria’s leading universities of health sciences.

The impending relocation to the purpose-built campus at Akwete-Akpa is expected to provide a significant boost to the University’s infrastructure, capacity, and ability to fulfil its core mandate of advancing medical education and reducing medical tourism abroad.

Speaking earlier at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Aba Uba, charged the newly matriculated students to take their studies seriously. In his address titled “When Action Aligns with Motive and Purpose,” he emphasised discipline, vision, and clarity of purpose as essential pillars for success.

He stressed the importance of maintaining stringent standards in admissions, staff recruitment, and curriculum development.

The ceremony, described by the University’s Information Unit as “unarguably unprecedented in scale and standards,” marks a pivotal moment for FUHSO as it celebrates current growth and lays the foundation for a transformative future at its newly constructed permanent home in Akwete-Akpa, Akweya land.
