Yellowman, celebrated globally for his pioneering role in reggae and dancehall, will take the stage at Yucca North, one of Flagstaff’s top live music venues, located at 15 N. WC Riles. The show, will run from 7:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. (MST) and will feature additional sets by DJ Jahmar and Ha’angana.

Known for his charismatic performances and socially conscious lyrics, Yellowman has been on a global tour since summer 2025, thrilling fans across Brazil and several states in the United States. His stop in Arizona continues a legacy of high-energy performances that bridge generations of reggae lovers.

While fans in the U.S. prepare for a night of classic dancehall, across the Atlantic, gospel reggae enthusiasts in Nigeria are gearing up for a spiritual explosion of rhythm and praise.

The Rydeem of Light International Gospel Reggae Festival, now in its eighth edition, will feature an unprecedented lineup of 35 acts from seven Nigerian states, converging in Abuja on November 22, 2025 — the same day Yellowman performs in Arizona.

Headlining the Abuja event is Ibi Dave, the award-winning African Gospel Reggae Artist of the Year (2024), who will be leading his full band from Gombe State. Ibi Dave, known for hits like Zion, Push It Up, and Spirit, continues to shape the African gospel reggae soundscape with his deep spiritual messages wrapped in irresistible rhythm.

Other featured performers include Prof. Uji Wilfred, an academic and historian from the Federal University Lafia, whose passion for gospel reggae bridges scholarship and spirituality. There will also be Professor and Bishop Ayuba Bawa from Kaduna, and Bishop Ibro Zion, both known for blending scriptural depth with reggae’s liberating sound.

Also thrilling Abuja will be a host of dynamic ministers and gospel reggae luminaries such as Rev. Akali, RasPZ, Silas Wonder Man, Kate Pee, Jah Refuge, Yes Band, Minister Bunmi, Charlz Nanat, Manasseh and the Sons of Zion, Emperor ElChrisendo, MaPraise, C.J. The organisers, the NGO known as Gospel Reggae Team Initiative, also known as The Kristofarians, say this year’s edition will celebrate “The Christ in Reggae”, focusing on using reggae to inspire hope, promote peace, and strengthen faith in Christ. The event will include live band sessions, collaborations, and special tributes to reggae legends who have influenced gospel reggae worldwide.

Speaking ahead of the event, one of the festival’s coordinators, Mama Lucee, said: “While the world grooves to King Yellowman’s dancehall beats in Arizona, Abuja will be vibrating with a different kind of reggae, one that ministers life and light. It shows that reggae, whether in the dancehall or in the church hall, continues to unite hearts across continents.”

As King Yellowman raises the flag of classic reggae in the U.S., and Ibi Dave leads the charge for gospel reggae in Nigeria, November 22, 2025, promises to be a day the global reggae community will remember — a day when rhythm, spirituality, and culture dance together across two continents.
