Davido’s appointment as a Grammy Voting Member was announced through an Instagram video posted by the Academy on Tuesday, positioning him among the select group responsible for determining music’s most prestigious awards.
As a voting member, Davido will participate in the complete Grammy process, including vetting entries, creating nominations, and selecting final winners. The Academy has instructed voting members to “review the ballot, listen and vote early, starting October 3” for the upcoming award season.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where decisions made by Davido and fellow voting members will be revealed.

Davido joins a diverse group of new voting members including Ravyn Lenae, Offset, Jessie Reyez, Zac Brown, Anne Akiko Meyers, Miles Minnick, Maya Elizabeth, Damien Sneed, Damaris, and Stewart Copeland for the 2026 Grammy awards.
His inclusion adds to the Nigerian representation within the Academy’s voting body, joining existing members songwriter Tito Da Fire, rapper Laycon, music executive Bizzle Osikoya, and singers Oxlade and Praiz, who were admitted in 2022.
The Recording Academy maintains strict criteria for voting membership. Applicants must be active performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, instrumentalists, or creators currently working in the recording industry with credits on at least six commercially released tracks within the past five years.
Members must also demonstrate active industry engagement, pay annual dues, and maintain good standing with the Academy throughout their membership.
Davido expressed enthusiasm about his new role, noting the significance of participating in the Grammy voting process. “Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard and participating in the Grammy Award process is a game-changer,” he stated.
The hitmaker highlighted voting as empowerment, saying, “I’ve learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on each award season. I’m honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”
Davido brings substantial Grammy experience to his voting role, having earned four nominations including three at the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024 and one in 2025.
