For 150 young men and women in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, a new door to opportunity has opened through digital entrepreneurship.
The beneficiaries recently participated in a free Digital Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Programme organised by the Otunba Lana Akintan Human Rights Foundation, OLAKHURF, at Aladuke Hall, Oja-Odan.

Held under the foundation’s Empowerment Support Services programme, the one-day training focused on helping young people develop practical digital skills, understand entrepreneurship and explore opportunities for employment and business creation.
Participants were trained in three key areas: understanding the digital economy and entrepreneurship, using digital skills for employment and job creation, and adopting digital payment systems for businesses.

Resource persons, including Samson Egbuns, Michael Jacob and Mary Oguntuyi, made the sessions practical and interactive, exposing participants to ways they could turn digital knowledge into self-employment and sustainable businesses.
Speaking at the programme, OLAKHURF’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Babayemi Ogundipe, said the initiative reflected the foundation’s commitment to empowering young people through education, skills acquisition and economic opportunities.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to put their new knowledge into practice and also give back to their communities when they become successful.
The joy of the beneficiaries was evident as certificates of participation were presented at the end of the programme, with facilitators also offering continued mentorship and guidance.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Daniel Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the foundation and its founder, promising that the beneficiaries would use their newly acquired digital skills to build sustainable livelihoods.
For these young Nigerians, the training was more than a certificate. It was an opportunity to learn, dream and take another step towards a brighter and more independent future.
