According to a Royal Invitation Memorandum dated 17 December 2025, the meeting is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 20 December 2025, by 12:00 noon, at the Palace of the District Head. The council session will be held in the presence of the two Ward Heads.

Those invited from both communities include two elders each, the chiefs, community presidents or their representatives, community chairmen, youth leaders, and women leaders. Also summoned are key ward-level stakeholders, including the Leader of Community Presidents, Chairman of Chairmen from Otogwi and Allan wards, Leaders of Chiefs, the National Youth (AYPF) Leader, the Akweya, and security heads of both wards.

The memorandum states that the royal council meeting is convened to deliberate on matters of shared concern affecting peace, unity, and development, and to reinforce harmony, mutual understanding, and effective traditional leadership coordination across the communities.

The invitation may be connected with the recent developments around the burial of the late Mrs Lucy Inogwanya Odengle. The fracas that ensued exposed gaps in communication between the different levels of the community as well as tensions resulting from changing social norms and traditions.

All invited personalities have been directed to be present and seated in good time, as the meeting is described as being of grave importance to the stability and wellbeing of the people.

AkweyaTV will continue to monitor developments and bring updates from the royal council meeting.
