Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai have repelled an attempted infiltration by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Bitta, located in Nigeria’s North-East region.
According to military authorities, the insurgents reportedly advanced towards a troop position but were met with resistance, forcing them to retreat after an exchange of fire. The encounter is one of several recent clashes between security forces and insurgent groups in the area.
Military officials noted that similar attacks were also repelled in Banki and near Azir Bridge within the same period, indicating sustained pressure on armed groups operating in the theatre. Troops were said to have maintained control of key locations following the engagements.
The High Command commended personnel involved in the operations and encouraged them to continue ongoing efforts aimed at improving security conditions in the region.
