Nisa Premier Hospital, Jabi, Abuja, has denied allegations circulating on social media that it was involved in the alleged transactional removal of a young man’s kidney.
The hospital, in a press statement signed by its Medical Director, Dr. Nonso Ogbuefi, described the allegation as false, stating that it neither performed the alleged surgery nor had any surgical encounter with the young man involved.
According to the hospital, the controversy arose following claims by the young man that one of his kidneys had been removed at another hospital after an investigation by a third party.
Nisa Premier Hospital explained that its only involvement in the matter was the conduct of a diagnostic ultrasound scan to confirm whether the individual was missing one of his kidneys.
The hospital said the scan was requested by the individual and the investigator who brought him to the facility, adding that the cost of the examination was paid by the investigator.
It further stated that the ultrasound report professionally confirmed the absence of the left kidney, but stressed that the finding did not indicate that the kidney had been removed at Nisa Premier Hospital.

The hospital also said the investigator had clearly stated in the primary video circulating on social media that Nisa Premier Hospital was only engaged to conduct a scan to confirm the condition of the man’s kidneys and was not involved in the surgical removal of the kidney.
Nisa Premier Hospital assured its patients, partners, stakeholders and the general public of its commitment to providing ethical, transparent and quality healthcare services.
The hospital further called on the relevant authorities to conduct a full investigation into the allegations and said it would cooperate fully with any investigation aimed at resolving the matter.
