The Maduka University community is mourning the sudden death of one of its lecturers, Dr. Ejembi, who reportedly died on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
According to the Maduka University Student Press (MUS Press) newsletter, Dr. Ejembi was preparing to leave the university as members of staff began their break when he was observed to be experiencing difficulty breathing.
The newsletter reports that the lecturer was rushed for medical attention but died before he could reach the medical centre.
His death reportedly occurred on the first day of the staff break, leaving colleagues and members of the university community shocked.
Dr. Ejembi was described by MUS Press as a dedicated academic and pioneer Dean of Student Affairs, who was committed to student welfare and the development of the university community.
The student publication identified him as a General Studies (GST) lecturer, a mentor and a pillar of the Maduka University community, noting his commitment to academic excellence and student development.
