To the glory of God, the maiden screening of Gordon Main’s award-winning documentary, Comrade Tambo’s London Recruits, held successfully on, Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at Auditorium C, Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria.
The auditorium was filled to capacity with students, film enthusiasts and film arts professionals, including literary giants such as Emeritus Prof. Femi Osofisan as well as FAN’s Executive Director and Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association ( PAWA) Dr. Wale Okediran among others in attendance.

The screening marked a decisive ice-breaker for the laudable continental film distribution and co-production project championed by Film Africa Network (FAN) which is a collaboration between the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) and Driving Park Limited — an initiative under FAN’s ‘Africa Watches Together’ campaign, designed to address the poor circulation of African films across the continent.

The event drew film enthusiasts and stakeholders in a historic first step towards building a continental audience for African stories, reaffirming the campaign’s promise that Africa can watch together.

The film will now move to Lagos, where it will be screened at the Pencil Film & Television Institute on Monday, November 30 2026 as well as in Kaduna on a date to be announced.
Similarly, several other African countries participating in this inspiring continental screening project will begin their own screenings in the coming days — a further affirmation that Africa Watches Together is no longer a promise, but a movement in motion.
Dates for the screenings in other African countries will be announced.
FAN remains grateful to the project’s sponsors and its staff and supporters all over the African continent and its Diaspora.
