The announcement was made through a statement posted on the organisation’s LinkedIn page, heralding a new chapter in the organisation’s journey towards empowerment, equality, and positive change.
With a track record of robust experience and a determination that resonates with the organisation’s values, Andrew Mamedu is poised to lead ActionAid Nigeria into a future marked by innovation and inclusivity.

Experience
Andrew Mamedu brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as the Director of Resource Mobilisation and Innovation at ActionAid Nigeria, where he served for over three years. Prior to this role, he held the position of Head of Resource Mobilisation and Innovation for two and a half years. During his tenure, Mamedu played a crucial role in leading ActionAid Nigeria’s efforts in resource mobilisation, programme design, and fostering innovation within the organisation’s projects.
Education
In terms of education, Mamedu has consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (Political Economy) from Atlantic International University, obtained between 2021 and 2023. Prior to this, he earned a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Political Science (Political Economy) from Veritas University, Nigeria, graduating in 2020. His educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin, earned between 1996 and 2000.
