The Nigeria Police Force commemorated the 2025 Customer Service Week with an event at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where it also inaugurated a SERVICOM Committee to review the Police Service Charter.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun was represented at the event by Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, DIG Basil Idegwu, according to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin on October 9, 2025.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers and the Acting National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mr. Gbenga Anthony Oshin, who was represented by Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, alongside other directing staff of SERVICOM.
In his address, the Inspector-General charged officers to continually uphold the values of responsiveness, transparency and accountability in policing.
He recalled that the Nigeria Police Force was recognised as the Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal of 2024, stressing that such an achievement must be consolidated through sustained excellence.
The inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee was jointly performed by DIG Basil Idegwu and Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa.
In her remarks, Mrs. Akinbodewa commended the leadership of the IGP for his commitment to police reforms and improved service delivery. She urged the Force to remain steadfast in its mission of providing quality services to Nigerians.
The statement noted that this year’s Customer Service Week, celebrated globally with the theme “Appreciating Service Excellence and Strengthening Customer Engagement,” aligns the Nigeria Police Force with the global spirit of continuous improvement.
