President Bola Tinubu has postponed his return to Nigeria after a last minute change to his travel schedule.
President Bola Tinubu, who was expected back in the country this weekend, is now expected to return next Sunday, according to presidential sources cited by TheCable.
The Presidency has not disclosed the reason for the latest adjustment.
Sources also indicated that the President is expected to arrive in Lagos and could spend some time there before returning to Abuja.

Tinubu’s Extended Stay In Europe
President Bola Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for London to begin a three-week working vacation as part of his annual leave.
During his stay in Europe, the President travelled to Paris, France, where he held engagements with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.
The Presidency announced on September 21 that President Bola Tinubu had extended his stay in Europe by a few days and was expected to return to Nigeria at the weekend.
It said the President Bola Tinubu remained in contact with officials in Nigeria and continued to direct government affairs while away from the country.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has meanwhile represented the President Bola Tinubu at some official engagements during his absence.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima also travelled to New York on September 20 to represent Nigeria at the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Questions Over Presidential Powers
The President’s extended stay abroad has also renewed discussion over the constitutional arrangements for the exercise of presidential powers when the President is away from the country.
Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution provides that a President proceeding on vacation or otherwise unable to discharge his functions should transmit a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Following such a declaration, the Vice-President performs the functions of President in an acting capacity.
The issue has generated questions from opposition figures and some lawmakers over the application of the provision during Tinubu’s prolonged absence.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, however, said there was no vacancy in Aso Rock and maintained that President Bola Tinubu remained in charge of the country’s affairs while abroad.
As of Sunday morning, the Presidency had not issued an official explanation for the latest change to President Bola Tinubu’s return schedule.
