The District Head of Akweya, HRH Wilson Great Ahola Pius, alongside the leadership of the Akweya Community Development Association (ACDA), has officially endorsed Hon. Kennedy Angbo for a second term to represent the Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly.

The endorsement was formalised during an interactive meeting convened by the National President of ACDA, Chief Maurice Agor Adiga, on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
A Call for Unity
Addressing the gathering, HRH Wilson Ahola urged Akweya sons and daughters to rally behind Hon. Angbo in the upcoming 2027 polls.
Despite acknowledging some reservations, the District Head emphasised the importance of communal unity, stating,
“We are happy with Honourable Angbo because he is outspoken and can always stand for Akweya. Whatever differences we have had, our own is our own; we cannot throw away our own.”
The District Head further enjoined citizens to secure their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to ensure they can exercise their franchise for the advancement of the Akweya community.
Addressing the ‘Food City’ Project
In his address, Hon. Kennedy Angbo provided a status update on the multi-billion naira National Food City Complex project, which has recently been the subject of public debate. Addressing concerns regarding its viability, Angbo firmly assured his constituents that the project is genuine.
Key highlights of the project shared by Hon. Angbo include the acquisition of over 12,500 hectares of land following consultations with Akweya chiefs and elders.
“The City will lead to a projected generation of 25 megawatts of electricity and the construction of new road networks,” the legislator told the gatheing.
Angbo also disclosed that the National Food City, wchich is the first of six planned each geopolitical zone of Nigeria, has the potential to create 20,000 jobs for local youth and provide specialised professional training.

Political Leadership and Community Development
During the meeting, the District Head formally appealed to political gladiators in Akweya land to recognise Chief Abba Adaudu, the Oyalewa k’Idoma, as the political leader of Akweya, encouraging him to maintain his mentorship role in Hon. Angbo’s political career.
In his own remarks, Chief Abba Adaudu reaffirmed that the Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency seat remains zoned to Akweya until 2031, marking the conclusion of a 16-year rotation cycle. He also challenged Hon. Angbo to prioritise tangible infrastructure improvements for his alma mater, the Akpa Community Secondary School, specifically recommending the construction of a new classroom block.
Adding his support, ACDA National President Chief Maurice Agor Adiga, stated that the National Food City Complex is a transformative project for the region. He encouraged the community to embrace the initiative while urging Hon. Angbo to remain steadfast in driving the “Akweya Agenda” as the 2027 election cycle approaches.

John Scoty Anyebe; the National President of Ejor Community Development Association, Mr Emmanuel Odeh; a former Adim Community Chairman and former Allan Ward Councillor, Hon. Pius Akpa Ekape; and various Akweya community chairmen.
