The residence of Hon. Rose Amafu Aleje, the Deputy Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otukpo Local Government Area, was invaded by armed robbers in the early hours of today, beside Buhari international market, mararaba September 10, 2026.
According to accounts from a close confidant, Mrs Ochanya Ojofu who informed AkweyaTV, the assailants stormed the entire street in Karu, Nasarawa State, in a coordinated attack. The criminals, who arrived in cars and on bikes, operated for hours, leaving residents traumatised.
Our source confirmed that while no lives were lost and no one was physically hurt during the ordeal, the robbers made away with all phones and laptops belonging to Mrs. Rose and her family members.
The incident has cast a shadow over the community, with neighbours expressing shock at the boldness of the attackers who targeted the whole street.
Hon. Rose Amafu Aleje is a known community leader and the Convenor of the “Don’t Kill My Dreams Initiative,” a non-governmental organisation dedicated to fighting teenage pregnancies and empowering young mothers to rebuild their lives after having unplanned children.
The robbery comes just months after her appointment as Deputy Women Leader of the APC in Otukpo LGC on June 2026, a role in which she pledged to work hard and create greater impact for the women of Otukpo.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Residents are calling for increased security presence in the area as investigations continue.
