
Idoma Area Traditional Council has confirmed the appointment of Pst Wilson Adikwu Ahola as the District Head of Akweya in Otukpo Local Government of Benue State.
The confirmation was done when the elders of Akweya and the first Class Chief of Otukpo, HRH Chief Emmanuel Okochi, took the newly appointed monarch, Pst Wilson Ahola to the Och’Idoma, His Majesty John Odogbo, for approval and royal blessing on Saturday 21st January, 2023 at the Och’Idoma’s Palace Otukpo.

The Och’Idoma, while praying for the new Och’Akpa charged him to rule his people with love, humility and the fear of God. He prayed that God grant him wisdom like Solomon in the Bible.
A certificate of appointment as the Beaded District Head of Akpa was also presented the new king, Chief Wilson Ahola, by the Secretary to the Och’Idoma Hon Adegbe Uloko.
Recall that a seven-man selection committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Dr. John Ochai, the Ada’Ohimin, and other king makers from Akpa District met on 19th January, 2022 at the Otukpo Local Government Council for the selection of a new District Head after about 18 years of been ruled by different Acting District Head.
The process of selection involved deliberations and screening of candidates.
Other members of the selection committee include HRH Chief Emmanuel Okoechi, the 1st Class Chief in charge of Otukpo/Ohimini, Chief Asam Iroja Otukpo/Akpa, Third Class Chief, Adegbe Uloko Secretary to the Och’Idoma, the Third Class Chief of Onyagede Chief Zachariah and HRH Chief Dr. Samuel Onu.
