Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed concerns about the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) readiness for the 2027 general elections. During a media chat at his residence, Wike likened the party to a student who attends classes without putting in effort to study.

According to Wike, PDP members and leaders are deceiving themselves into thinking they are preparing for the elections when, in reality, they are not. He emphasized that the party’s internal power struggles are a significant obstacle to their preparedness.

Wike also claimed that many politicians fail to listen to his messages due to their hatred for him, but he believes his words are necessary for the party’s growth. He stressed that one doesn’t need to like him personally to acknowledge the truth in his statements.

The minister’s comments highlight the challenges facing the PDP as it approaches the 2027 elections. Wike’s assertion that the party is not ready raises questions about the party’s strategy and leadership.
